Anything at all might help. He was born in Scotland about 1864 and still alive in 1934 when his brother, Edward,
died in Iowa. The obit from 1934 says Edward was "survived by one brother, John, of Salem Oregon".

oregon.  My great grandmother, Stella Vera Beaumont, was born in October 1891 in Gervais, Marion county.
I am looking for info on her parents William L. and Julia Ann Beaumont.  I don't know julia's maiden name.  William

My Great Grandmother and Great Grandfather on my father's side were Kate DEMENT HAMILTON ARMIN,
(She was divorced and remarried a man by the Last name of ARMIN). Kate's birthday was 6/28/1874, Oregon,
and she died 9/4/1957 in San Diego, CA. And John Franklin HAMILTON, Attorney of Law in Roseburg.Kat's
Parents were Ione SAFFARANS DEMENT, born 11/12/1853 Oregon City, OR and died 6/13/1935 in San
Diego, CA  and William Eugene DEMENT, born in 1850 Oregon City, OR and died 9/28/1928 in Astoria,
Oregon. His father was William Clement DEMENT, his wife is believed to be Olive JOHNSON. Ione's
parents were Dr. Henry SAFFARANS born 1821 and died 1872 and Almira DAY SAFFARANS
born 1826 and died 1892.

My grandfather son of Kate and John HAMILTON was Walter Dolf HAMILTON. Walter married Verna
Katherine VANAMEN HAMILTON. Verna's parents were Daniel Elias VANAMAN from Indiana,
born 8/15/1864 and died 6/22/30 in San Diego and Daniel's parents were Sara ROLLER and Elias
VANAMAN from Indiana. Verna's mother was Edith Maude RICE VANAMAN. Verna and Walter
had a son, Eugene Frank HAMILTON born March 14, 1936. Eugene married Betty Jean TUCKER
HAMILTON her mother was Marjorie Anna DAVIS TUCKER who married Marvin Melville

mental hospital?  If not, what kind of facility was it?

My grandfather: Henry Wallace MONROE  Born: 4/27/1907  Died: May 1986 Supposedly he lived in
Gates, Oregon and that town no longer exists as it was dammed up and flooded to make way for a dam.
I don't know if this is true. My grandfather always said he never had a birth certificate, but there has to
be some information.

My great grandfather: James MONROE    Born 3/1864 in Michigan (no town name) According to the
1920 census he was a logger living in Gates, Oregon.  I do not know his death date or year. He was married
to Effie WHITE when he passed away and I assume it's in Marion County, Oregon, but I don't know that information.

So anything you or any of your geneaologists might know--dates, cemetaries or anything would be helpful.

I found a relative listed on the Oregon Death Index. She died January 23, 1940 in Marion County. She's

Her name was Elva Rohde, married to Frank Rohde. Elva's maiden name was Ostrander.
She died very young, like 23yrs old.

I am looking for the Winters family that migrated to Oregon sometime between 1880-1894.  Son Ross E. Winters may have
been born in Marion Co., OR on Nov. 3, 1884. Other children included Lura Elizabeth born 1877 in Illinois, Minnie,
and probably Raymond and Harry who was born around 1880.

1895 Marion Co. census has Walter, Frank, R., L., Minnie, Charles, Louis and Margaret Winters listed together on
page 186 per online database. We do know that Lura Elizabeth attended Willamette Univ. in 1895; the university
confirmed for me.
The parents and Harry were definitely in Portland area in 1931 where my grandfather visited them. At the time of
Lura's death in Indiana, 1947, brother Ross and sister "Mrs. John Peterson" were located in Washington. California
death record for a Ross E. Winters, born Nov. 3, 1884, died Kings Co., CA Dec. 28, 1969. Record has him born in
Oregon, social security number issued in Washington.
