followed by questions and answers. A

The Bend Genealogical Society issues certificates to
persons who are directly descended from pioneers who settled in Central Oregon
(i.e., counties of Deschutes, Crook, Jefferson, Wasco, Klamath or Lake) before
1950. The certificate is an attractive
sequentially serialized 8 ˝” x 11” parchment and suitable for framing.
Applicants must prove direct descent and prove that
the ancestor settled in
The purpose of the program is to recognize families of the pioneers, encourage
people to undertake genealogical research and to provide genealogical resources
for researchers in our library. An
application for the Pioneer Certificate can be requested by either calling or
mailing to the BGS at the respective information noted at the top of this
website.
We
have a few very attractive T-Shirts left.
At this point there are no plans to order more when these are gone, so
if you want one it’s best to get it now.
