Richard Wanous

   Richard Rudolph Wanous 92, of Prineville, Oregon passed away October 12, 
2008. No service will be held at this time.
   Richard was born April 14,1916 to Adolf and Mary (Skalicky) Wanous in 
Pine City, Minnesota. He attended school in Pine City, Minnesota. Richard 
started farming until WWII. He moved to Lakeview, OR in 1940 and lived 
there for several years. He then moved to Richmond, California and worked
in the ship yards and for Standard Oil.

   He went to work for Southern Pacific Railroad in 1951 until his retirement 
in 1976.  He moved to the Portland area until 2007 at which time he moved to 
Fossil, Oregon.  

   He married Betty Lou Bowers in Los Angeles, California.

   His hobbies included music, singing, reading, history and was known for 
his light hearted humor.

   He is survived by his son Richard W. (Pam) Wanous of Spray, Ore; son 
Terry L. (Sherrill) Wanous of Portland, Ore; six grand children; eleven, 
great grand children and one great great grand grandson.

   Richard is preceded in death by his parents Adolf and Mary Wanous, three
brothers and one sister.

   Whispering Pines Funeral home is assisting the family with these 
arrangements.
