C.A. (Bud) Redfern Jan. 28, 1927 - Feb. 7, 2001 C.A. (Bud) Redfern of Prineville died Wednesday. He was 74. Visitation will be from 1 to 7 p.m. Friday at Whispering Pines Funeral Home Chapel. The Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Josephs Catholic Church. Mr. Redfern was born Jan. 28, 1927, in Benton County, Ark., to John and Lottie (McGarrah) Redfern. He attended schools in Oklahoma and graduated from Gresham High School. He worked for Brightwood Logging in Brightwood after high school. After buying his first logging truck, he was an independed trucker the rest of his life. He left Brightwood in 1966 and moved to Prineville. He married his wife Nancy on May 28, 1988, in Powell Butte. Mr. Redfern was a member of Elks Lodge No. 1814. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on his motor home, traveling and being with his family and grandchild. Survivors include his wife, Nancy of Prineville; two stepdaughters, Darlene Counts of Bend and Paula Hobeck of Arlington, Wash.; one brother, Leon of Fairview; four sisters, Freda Moon of Turlock, Calif., Mackie Nushaum of Bullhead City, Ariz., Gwen Heinrich of Portland and Mary Dominique of Cathlamet, Wash.; and one grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and his former wife. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Josephs Catholic Church. Whispering Pines Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
