John Weismandle, 76 years old, a resident of this vicinity since 1849, when he crossed the plains, died here today of
tuberculosis, after a long illness. He is survived by a wife and three children, one of the daughters being Dr. Mrs. J. H.
Howard, of Portland.

Mr. Weismandle was born in Germany in 1833 and when 16 years old went to New York, from which point he crossed the plains to
Oregon. He was widely known throughout the state. He lived at 1209 Eleventh street, this city.
