Word was received here this morning of the death of Charles Thomas
Warner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Warner of this city.
Young Warner died in the hospital at Kennet, Cal., where he was assistant
engineer for the Mammoth Copper Mining Company. No
particulars have been received, but the body will be shipped here
for interment.
Mr. Warner was born at Stockton, Cal., August 30, 1883, and came
to Oregon City with his parents at the age of 9 years. He
attended the public schools of Oregon City, graduating from the
Barclay High School, after which he entered the University of
Oregon, taking a course in mining engineering and was graduated
last June. He plunged at once into his chosen field and worked
for the Opp mine, at Jacksonville, one of the largest in Southern
Oregon.
Besides his parents he is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Clara
Warner Stewart, of Portland, and Miss Bessie Warner of this
city. He was a young man of much promise and scores of friends
here mourn his untimely death. |
