C. F. Vonderahe, a well-known town resident of this county, died
suddenly this afternoon at his home in Carus, six miles from
Oregon City. He has been ill for some time and had no sleep last
night. This morning he could eat no breakfast, and before noon
sent his son, Fred, out to do some furrowing. The young man returned
to the house about 3 o'clock and found his father lying
dead on his bed.
Mr. Vonderahe was a pioneer of the --- '50s and was about 80
years of age. He was a native of Germany. The following
children survive him: Charles and Henry Vonderahe, of Oregon City;
Mrs. Julia Mueller, of Clarkes; Mrs. Mary McCarthy and Fred
Vonderahe, of Carus, and Louis Vonderahe, of Oak Grove. |
