John W. Thornton died her Monday. He was born in Iowa 69 years ago and was a corporal in the Union Army during the Civil War.
He came to Oregon 12 years ago and purchased and laid out the town of Wilsonville. Several years ago he founded the Farmers
Bank, of Wilsonville, which institution he conducted until his death.

He leaves a widow, Mrs. Kate C. Thornton; two sons, Robert I. Thornton, of Illinois; Joe J. Thornton, of Wilsonville.
