Jake Smith, who made his home in Canby for some time, died of Glanders, at Cornelius on Saturday, and funeral services were
held at Hillsboro today. The disease was contracted from horses. Mr. Smith was unmarried, and was about 36 years of age. He is
survived by his sisters, Mrs. Wilson Evans and Mrs. Charles Huiras of Canby.
