"Molalla Early Pioneer Settler, Born in Indiana, Passes Away"
Molalla, Or., Nov. 1

The death of Thomas Robbins Sunday night removed another of the original pioneers of this section and the state. He was born
in Decatur County, Indiana, in 1836. When 16 years of age he crossed the plains by ox-team with an emigrant train. The family
settled in what was then known as Salem Prairie. In 1860 he moved to what is now the city of Molalla. Many of the family and
their descendants now live there and are among the most prominent citizens.

He is survived by a widow, two sons and four daughter, and brothers, Harvey Robbins, Spokane; Levi Robbins, Molalla; Martin
Robbins, Oregon City; Oliver Robbins, Molalla; Nancy Jane Gilliam, Pilot Rock, Or.; Mrs. N. Loveridge, Weston, Or., and Mrs. E.
T. Benson, Portland.
