Mrs. Emma O'Dell died at Dr. Lupton's hospital in Sandy, May 2. She was born October 11, 1863, in Nimehaw, Neb., and crossed the
plains to Oregon in 1879. She was married to James O'Dell February 10, 1882, at McMinnville, Or. They lived in Yamhill County until
1889, when they came to their homestead near Salmon postoffice. She was the mother of 12 children, 11 of whom are still living. The
surviving children are: George, William, John, Mrs. Gilbert Vanderhoof, Mrs. Fred Beechel, Mrs. Frank Bacon, Minnie, Mamie, Katie,
Daisy and Emma. Her husband, mother, a brother and four sisters also survive.
