Lee E. Neally, of Clackamas, was hit by a freight train near
Park Place late last night, receiving injuries from which he died
within two hours.
Neally was crossing the track in a buggy at 11:30 o'clock when
he was struck by a Southern Pacific freight train. The train
was stopped at once and the injured man brought to town by the
train crew, who backed the train to Oregon City for this purpose.
A physician was called, but the injuries were fatal, Neally dying
a few minutes before 1 o'clock this morning. He was 50
years old and was formerly a railway engineer. For the past few
months he had been doing carpenter work for a man named Case. |
