Benjamin F. Linn, former resident of Clackamas County, died at his
home in Portland today.
Mr. Linn was well known throughout the county. He formerly was
engaged in the lumber manufacturing industry and operated a
sawmill in the Beaver Creek country, a settlement in that section
having been named for him.
Mr. Linn was born in Illinois, April 14, 1846, and came to Clackamas
County, Oregon, in 1864, where he resided until a few
weeks ago.
Mr. Linn is survived by his widow, Mrs. Susan C. Linn, of Portland;
two daughters, Mrs. Hester Bates, of Portland; Miss Milda
Shumway of Oregon City; five sons, A. B. Linn of Oregon City; T.
W. Linn of Garfield, Clackamas county; J. W. Linn of Oregon
City; Phil Linn and Ernest Linn of Timber Valley, Washington.
The funeral will be held here at the Baptist Church Sunday. The
interment will be in the Mountain View Cemetery. Rev. W. T.
Milliken, pastor of the Baptist Church, will officiate. |
