Rev. Andrew J. Josslyn, an Oregon pioneer, died at his home
in Canby Wednesday night. His death was caused by burns received
two weeks ago when a preparation of kerosene and water spilled
on a stove while he was cleaning a clock.
Rev. Mr. Josslyn was born in Indiana 79 years ago. He crossed
the plains to Oregon in the early days and has lived in the
state since. He was favorably known among the people for whom he
worked while in the ministry. He retired from active life
several years ago. However, he has filled a number of pulpits since
retiring.
On July 4, 1920, Rev. Mr. Josslyn celebrated his 50th anniversary
as a minister at a picnic given in his honor at Needy,
Clackamas county, the first place where he took up his honor at

ministerial work. Rev. Mr. Josslyn was the principal speaker of
the day.
Rev. Josslyn is survived by his widow, who lives at Canby.
Funeral services will be held from the Canby Methodist church
Saturday morning at 10 o'clock. |
