David A. James, who served in the Civil War from 1862 to 1865, died at his home here today.

Mr. James was born January 13, 1836, in Oswego County, New York, and November 26, 1859, married Ellen D. Kellogg at Kato,
Mandowoc county, Wisconsin. The following children survive: Mrs. A. J. Hardin, of Michigan; Inis M. James, Oregon City; Mrs.
Ella M. Colby, Blaine, Wash.; David H. James, Tacoma; Donald W. James, Oregon City, and Howard M. James, Silverton.

Meade Post No. 2, Grand Army of the Republic, will have charge of the funeral Wednesday, and the services used will be those
of the Christian Science Church.
