"Veterans of Franco-Prussian War Bear Comrade to Grave"

Funeral services over the body of Julius E. Fretag were held Saturday afternoon, Rev. E. S. Bollinger, formerly pastor of the
congregational Church in this city, but now of the Highland Church, Portland, conducting the services. August Schnorr, veteran
of the Franco-Prussian War, spoke impressively of his comrade's death, Mr. Fretag having been a commisary commissioner during the
war of 1870 and 1871 at Wurtemberg. At the Mountain View Cemetery the ceremony was conducted by the veterans. The pallbearers
were all veterans of the Franco-Prussian War and were T. Siebel, captain of the war veterans; August Van Olhoff, M. Lehberg,
