Nelson A. Flynn, long a resident near Sandy and veteran of the
Civil War, died at the home of hi daughter, Mrs. David Douglass,
on
the Revenue farm, December 8. He was born in West Virginia September
24, 1841, and joined the West Virginia Cavalry during the Civil
War. He was wounded and discharged, but re-enlisted and remained
in the service till the close of the war. He moved to Oregon in
1883, making his home at Sycamore, where he was the postmaster.
He then moved to Cherryville, where he lived for 13 years. The
following children survive him: Mrs. David Douglass and Mrs. Myra
Revenue, Sandy, Or.; Mrs. L. B. Trullinger, of Portland; Noah W.
Flynn, of Eastern Oregon; George and Ira Flynn, of Cherryville.
The funeral was held at Cherryville. |
