Oscar Eaton, for many years chaplain of the Oregon State Grange,
died at 6 o'clock this morning, at his home near Oswego, aged
88 years, 10 months and 11 days. He had been in failing health for
some time and had been unable to attend the recent sessions
of the State Grange at McMinnville.
Mr. Eaton was a native of New York state and came to Oregon about
20 years ago, settling near Oswego. He was a Civil War
veteran. He is survived by four children, Mrs. A. J. Thompson,
of Oswego; Louis Eaton, of Pendleton, and Mrs. H. E. Thomson and
Miss D. G. Eaton, of British Columbia. The funeral will probably
take place next Tuesday, though definite arrangements have not
yet been made. |
