Samuel H. Dix is dead at his home in Colton, aged 72 years, 9 months, 4 days. He is survived by a wife and seven children:
Mrs. Mary E. Freeman of Elwood; Ulysses S. Dix of Colton; Mrs. Sadie Bonney of Hillsboro; John T. Dix of Oregon City, and William
H., Euphrates O., Iro O. and Jehu T. Dix, of Shubel. He also leaves 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mr. Dix was born
in Ohio and was married 45 years ago to Elizabeth Hogue. He was a veteran of the Civil War, and had been a resident of Clackamas
County 30 years.
