Mrs. Phebe J. Dimick, aged 70 years, a pioneer resident of Oregon
and a resident of Whitman County, Washington for the past 21
years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. D. S. McDonnald,
at Spokane, Friday, May 14.
Mrs. Dimick was born in Madison County,
Ohio, in 1839, and crossed the plains in 1852, leaving Lagrange
County, Indiana, with
her father, one brother and three sisters. Sickness proved fatal
to three of her family. Her father and two sisters died of
cholera and were buried on the plains. Her brother, Robert Morris,
of Woodburn, Or., and Mrs. Sarah Muscott, of Washougal,
Wash., survive her.
The pioneers located at Needy in Clackamas County,
Oregon, and Mrs. Dimick was married to M. C. Dimick in 1856. Mrs.
Dimick
is survived by four sons and four daughters. They are: A. B. Dimick,
address unknown; D. R. Dimick, Canby, Or.; B. M. Dimick,
Woodburn, Or.; R. M. Dimick, Spokane; Mrs. P. W. Cox, Colfax, Wash.;
Mrs. H. F. Troub, Colfax, Wash.; Mrs. Arthur Cox, Miles
City, Mont.; Mrs. D. S. McDonnald, Spokane. |
