Thomas J. Davids, a pioneer in Southwest Washington, died at the
home of his son, L. S. Davids, in the Peach Mountain district
at 1 o'clock this afternoon, after an illness of three weeks. The
funeral will be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon from the
Holman Chapel. The body will be sent to Centralia for interment.
Mrs. Davids died several years ago and Mr. Davids came to Clackamas
County to make his home with his son. He is survived by
two sons, L. S. Davids and J. A. Davids, and one daughter, Mrs.
Cynthia Schwartz, of Everett. Mr. Davids was born in New York
state August 30, 1834 and crossed the plains to Washington about
1850.
