Mrs. Edith Clay died yesterday, the cause of her death being heart
trouble. Her husband recently died of the same disease.
Mrs. Clay had lived in Oswego a long time and was well known by
many Portland people. She was a member of one of the Portland
chapters of the Eastern Stark and was an active church worker.
Her father, Jerome Thomas who is now dead, was one of Oswego's
pioneer merchants. Mrs. Clay is survived by her only brother, Mr.
Thomas, of this city.
