Mrs. Mary M. Charman, a pioneer of 1857, died here tonight at 77
years of age after an illness of two years. She came to
Oregon City from the East by way of the Isthmus of Panama and had
lived here continuously since.
She was a member of the Woman's Relief Corps, the Order of the
Eastern Star and was one of the trustees of the First
Congregational Church. She is survived by Mrs. Sophia Charman,
of Oregon, a sister, and by a son, T. L. Charman, Oregon City
druggist. Her husband, Fred Charman died in 1868.
