Mr. and Mrs. L. Mattoon of Oregon City celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary January 8, at the home of their son, C. M.
Mattoon, 1804 East Tenth street. Dinner was served for 14 close friends and relatives of the family.
Mr. and Mrs. Mattoon were residents of Portland for a number of years. They are now living on a farm two miles south of
Oregon City.
Mrs. Mattoon was born in Sherbina, Mo. While still very young she came to Oregon with her parents. For 40 years she has been
an active member in the Ladies' Aid society of the Methodist Episcopal church.
Mr. Mattoon was born and raised in Viola, Clackamas county. It was here the wedding took place, 50 years ago.
Mr. and Mrs. Mattoon have two sons, C. Milton Mattoon of this city and Earl H. Mattoon of Eugene. |
