"Long-Time Residents of Oregon Celebrate 50th Anniversary of Their Wedding"
 

Mr. and Mrs. Marion Johnson, residents of Oregon since 1879, recently celebrated the 50th anniversary of their wedding at
their home at Clackamas. Intimate friends and relatives from all sections of the state were present.

Mr. Johnson, who was born in Lewiston, Ill., is a veteran of the Civil War, serving in the Eleventh Illinois Cavalry. After
the close of the war in 1867 he married Mary Apple, daughter of Mayor Apple, of Lewiston, Ill. They lived for a time in Iowa and
came to Oregon in 1879. They have made their home on what is known as the Steins Homestead, at Clackamas, since 1883.

The children of Mr. and Mrs. Johnson follow: W. L. Johnson, Dayton, Or.; Mrs. Fannie Merrell, Hillsboro, Or.; Mrs. Laura
Moore, Hood River; Mrs. Cora Cramer, Portland, and Mrs. Lewis Montgomery, Dayton, Or. There are 18 grandchildren and three
