Mr. and Mrs. Julius Chandler celebrated their golden wedding anniversary
at their home in Clackamas, Or., August 3. They were
honored by the presence of 218 of their friends and relatives who
joined them in a picnic supper, served on the lawn. C. L.
Starr of Portland acted as toastmaster. Responses were made by B.
F. Knoll, E. R. Smith and William H. Meyers, all of Portland;
J. L. Jones of Gladstone, and V. A. Weir of Clackamas. Mrs. Rollie
B. Holcomb presented a tribute of affection in behalf of the
community in which they live.
All the Chandler children are living and were present with their
families. They are Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Chandler of Portland,
Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Chandler, Medford, Or., Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Chandler
and daughter Delva, Wendling, Or., Mr. and Mrs. J. B.
Jackson, Clackamas, Or., Mr. and Mrs. Frank Knoll and sons, Edward,
Bobby and Dick of Jennings Lodge.
Mr. and Mrs. Chandler were married by Rev. J. M. Lowe in Greenwich,
O., August 3, 1878. In March, 1884, they came to Oregon,
settling at Sheridan. They moved to Clackamas 21 years ago. Mr.
Chandler is leader of the Boys' and Girls' club of Clackamas. |
